At the Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network (GAIN), our mission is to protect and empower immigrant survivors of crime and persecution. Through our free legal services, GAIN offers asylum seekers and immigrant survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual abuse access to critical legal representation that would otherwise be out of reach. Recently, we have expanded our offerings to include comprehensive client care services, further strengthening our commitment to ensure our vision of safety, freedom and opportunity for all.

Legal Representation

GAIN offers direct legal representation and pro bono referrals to Atlanta’s legal community, assisting over 2,000 clients and their families each year. Through our Asylum Program, we provide legal support to immigrants seeking refuge from harm and persecution, including cases involving female genital mutilation, gender-based violence, wrongful imprisonment, and torture. Our Victims of Violence Program serves survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and other crimes.

Client Care

GAIN's newly-launched client care program addresses our clients’ most critical basic needs, leading them to greater safety and stability as they build new lives here in Georgia. We provide initial case assessments, crisis management support, and confidential referrals for additional legal and social services. We ensure that each client that comes to GAIN feels supported, respected, and more informed about the tools they will need to thrive.

Coordinated Community Response

Beyond GAIN's core legal programs, we respond in real-time to the most pressing needs of our client communities through short-term projects and topical pro se and educational clinics. We also invest considerable effort in providing resources and technical assistance to community partners, with the goal to enhance the capacity of other organizations to deliver similar support.
